Happy 19th birthday to Malala! "Malala day is not my day. Today is the day of every woman, every boy, and every girl who have raised their voice for their rights." The youngest ever Nobel Prize laureate, Malala's young life of activism has been anything but easy: in 2012, a Taliban gunman even attempted her assassination as she rode home on a bus after taking an exam in Swat Valley in Pakistan. She was hit with one bullet that went through her head and neck and ended in her shoulder, but she survived and keeps fighting for education everywhere. "In Lebanon as well as in Jordan, an increasing number of refugees are being turned back at the border," Malala said. "This is inhuman and this is shameful." "I decided to be in Lebanon because I believe that the voices of the Syrian refugees need to be heard and they have been ignored for so long." Malala is an inspiration to us all.
